Hermon, Maine (January 2025) – Hydra Weaponry, Maine’s largest firearms employer, designers, and manufacturers of the truly modular MARCK-15 Hydra® Weapon System, announce a new caliber in its modular Hydra 10 platform lineup: the 6.5 Creedmoor. First introduced in March of 2024, the Hydra 10 offered customers the powerful AR 10 platform built with modularity in mind. The first Hydra 10 came out in the popular and versatile .308/7.62×51. Now, AR 10 enthusiasts can purchase a complete AR 10 in 6.5 Creedmoor, or purchase a Hydra 10 6.5 barrel for a quick and easy caliber change for their Hydra 10.
Modularity is everything at Hydra, offering customers a choice of the Hydra 10 complete rifle in .308/7.62×51 or the new 6.5 Creedmoor, or a Hydra barrel .308/7.62×51 or 6.5 Creedmoor. Hydra Weaponry is all about options. What makes modularity an important consideration in purchasing any rifle?
- Transport ONE Hydra 10 .308 and a 6.5 Creedmoor barrel in ONE rifle case instead of TWO.
- Save hundreds of dollars by using one platform and adding on barrel or conversion kits for more caliber options.
- Training on the same rifle increases muscle memory and therefore, accuracy. Change out calibers instead of rifles and MAINTAIN the same trigger pull and muscle memory.
- Save money on purchasing multiple optics. Set your one optic to Zero and maintain your shooter’s log with the calculations. Because some calibers will affect range, by keeping your shooter’s log up to date, all you have to do is dial the optics to a preset mode for that particular caliber.
All that is required to change out calibers in the Hydra 10 is a barrel. Built in Hydra’s new facility in Maine, the Hydra 10 uses premium materials and is subjected to serious quality control standards; therefore, the Hydra 10 withstands extreme environments and conditions while consistently performing. The Hydra 10 is built on a BLK Systems stock and pistol grip, with a Quick-Change Barrel Upper Receiver (QCB-D), and runs on standard SR-25 magazines with a DPMS pattern. Rifles and barrels are available in black or tan with 16” or 18” barrels and a starting MSRP of $1,999.00.
